Anybody here familiar with Woolmer Forest ?

According to JNCC it hosts the magic 12!, Its not too far from me, but a bit late in the year now...guess its a Spring job, would be interested to hear from people who know the site tho.

I have visited Woolmer a few times (mainly while studying natterjacks). It certainly does support the magic 12. However, the site is under the control of the MOD and access is restricted. There is an active firing range so trespassing is not advised! MOD control is probably the main reason why Woolmer Forest still exists...

If I remember rightly, Woolmer has open access during September as the ranges are shut down then. There is another period earlier in the year but can't remember when.
