Couldn't see an obvious place to stick this...so here goes a new thread. I have a problem catagorising all my pictures. Do I store them by species ? or by area/time ? Can I be bothered to type in all relevant details for a pic into a database ? (nope!) I have just discovered a useful piece of software called OziPhotoTool. Basically you feed the digital pic folder into it, along with the GPS track (as I'm recording sightings, GPS is always on anyhow), and it tallies up track time and position with the time the pic was taken (recorded on the EXIF of a JPEG), and hey presto it knows where the pic was taken ! and promptly fills in some of the GPS EXIF tags. Its a short step from here for a DB to automatically pull out relevant info. All I need to do now is to sort an easy way to batch add species and met data into the exif comment field and I'll be a happy camper ! Such a Geek ! |

Steve,
This is the software that I use to manage all my digital photos: IView Media Pro Check out the information on automation and scripting. It's a godsend to me in managing my collection of 8000+ photos. |
