hi folks,
i visited Highnam Woods RSPB reserve today. only a short distance from where i live. there are a few (by now dried up) ponds at this site, along with the birds, the RSPB sign boasts "common and palmate" newts. deep in the woodland i lifted this log beside the track at random; and encountered a herp i hadnt bargained for; its pleasing that common frog, common toad, grass snake, slow worm, smooth newt, palmate newt and crested newt (plus many non-herps) are found in (or a stones throw away) from the city of Gloucester. survival! ben Edited by ben rigsby - 16 Jun 2011 at 9:37pm |
