Thanks Gemma, it was a lovely day inside Greater London! he's an old male I've seen on and off for a good few years Tim. Seems to get more black and less terracotta on him each year.

Good thinking with the thread Will
 Fantastic start to it too! We didn't get rid of the overcast here in Essex yesterday so was quite cool with a chilly wind. I heard it was much warmer around London.

I thought perhaps we should start one of these, as for common lizards 2014. Some from today, at various London sites:
 male in situ  there are three adders here, honest... 1 baby centre of picture...  there it is, along with its dad (maybe)  close up of baby  one with orange/pink ground colour  close up of pink one |
