On the wall of a disused garage forecourt, next to a busy main road on Saturday (Kevinb will probably recognise the spot!):

Thanks Will. I've passed the location so many times and thought it looked a likely spot, so very pleased to be proven right! It's just a thin, sunny strip at the bottom of a garden - but undisturbed and with the right kind/volume of ground cover.
The tails of 2 adult males were visible. There may have been more, but having got the slow worm record i wanted, i didn't see the need in lifting the 'mat' to check.

20deg now in East Devon, but no sun. Did a check on my covers a while ago and found these in the compost heap

I found about another 50 under the covers, quite a few of these last year's young.
Also spotted this adult toad under one cover. My first adult of the year.
