Hi All,

I've been wondering about the possibilities of an email newsletter subscription to RAUK.

The idea would be that subscribers receive emails once a week with links to interesting threads and news item and any new features added to the site.

Any such scheme would be entirely independent to registering to use the forums, one would submit an email of choice on the homepage to sign-up and could unsubscribe at any time.

The reasoning behind this cunning plan is to keep the momentum going on the forums and also allow members to forward the email newsletter to friends and colleages.

Any thoughts, comments or suggestions of how this might be made to work appreciated.

There is also a poll above.

Many thanks,

Gemma

The Reptiles & Amphibians of the UK (RAUK) web site is not an organisation, it is a facility to promote the conservation of native herpetofauna and aid communication and networking amongst professionals, the public and those with a passion for native herpetofauna.

Registration is only required if you wish to post replies on the forums as is the case with most Internet bulletin boards.

The web site is maintained on a voluntary basis and invites donations to cover Internet server costs.

RAUK's facilities are available for the promotion of projects, voluntary groups, charities and trusts committed to conserving the herpetofauna of the British Isles.

It could certainly help to atract new members and keep the flow going.
The only thing is , it's going to add to your workload here on the forums.

Hi Al, your welcome!

Initially it will add to my workload to produce a newsletter, but the idea is then to use asp scripts to automate the process as much as possible if it proves popular. (This weeks one looks ready to go don't you think, sorry you all now know the content) The effort I put in will be worth it if those who subscribe to the newsletter pass it on and help keep new people coming to RAUK.
