Hi
New to the forum.  Been a keen reptile/ amphibian spotter for 30 yrs and got out yesterday for my first hunt around my local spot in Epping forest were i was luck enough to stumble accross a small population of adders around 10 years ago.  Dont often spot them as they seem to be in a very small corner of the forest and they dont seem to be be in high numbers . Got very lucky yesterday when i got out nice and early and instantly spotted a pair of adders sitting a few feet apart as i entered the spot . Found a very pretty female ( black ) and a stunning male . as always, they were both very small but healthy .  Searched a vast area around the spot and found nothing else other than lots of lizards and 1 grass snake. Managed to get some great shots of the two adders which ill try to upload .  Dont seem to get very lucky finding these so thinking that there isnt a great number of them in this spot .  Have been advised by forest rangers that they were added to the area in the 60s as part of a breeding experiment . ( not sure if this is true)
Thanks Richard
