Hi everyone!

I'm new to lizards in the UK, mainly because I didn't know we had any (sorry!). Anyway, I do now because I found one. Last Tuesday, the hottest day so far, I found what I originally thought was a dead newt in the middle of our conservatory floor.  All windows and doors had been shut all day and it's completely south facing, so was absolutely boiling in there.  Thinking it was dead, I scooped it up on some paper to give it a decent burial, at which point it moved a teensy bit. Still thinking along the newt line I took it into a shady corner of the garden at which point it made a dash for it.  Luckily I'd taken a photo first so I thought I'd look to see what sort of newt it was only to discover it was a lizard!

So the point of all this is I'd like some advice please. Are they happy living in a conservatory? It's flipping boiling in the summer and freezing in the winter. Last year I found a dried body of a 'newt' and another time a dried tail so I assume this live one wasn't an isolated occurrence. I'm more than happy to leave them be but just thought I'd seek some expert advice on how well they do indoors!  Thanks in advance Smile
