Hi all, a few years ago I saw and photographed a water frog at a pond in Epping. I don't know which species it is, but I'm leaning towards Pool or Edible. The pond in question is  http://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir//131+High+Rd,+Epping+CM16,+UK/@51.6899784,0.0894726,16z/data=!4m8!4m7!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x47d89f532f34b4bf:0x61b2131af907829f!2m2!1d0.0928866!2d51.6905978" rel="nofollow - here

Does anyone know this population and the species in question?

Hi - yes, I know the pond and its frogs - they're supposed to be southern clade pool frogs, Pelophylax lessonae, but the ones I have seen look on the large side, more like marsh frogs - perhaps some genes from each? they're thought to have been established in the Bell Common area of EF for decades. Jon Cranfield at Essex ARG knows more about them, I think.
