[IMG]uploads/1143/Screenshot_2014-05-23-21-27-51~2.jpg[/IMG Well this looks more like a common lizard to me only by looks, but some expert plonker described it as a gecko and onother a fringe toed liz.

Hi Keith
Might be a tricky one actually! Trouble is, so far as I am aware, Common Liz not found in Portugal ! But, of course, being a newspaper they may not have been anywhere near Portugal !
But it certainly isn't any kind of Fringe Toed Lizard (generally Eremias and relatives!) Balkans and eastwards.
Might be young (probably male) hispanica - although not "typical" they have a huge range of markings. Chris

Exactly what I thought Will, but no doubt it will cost thousands being kept in special quarantine escape proof accomodation.
