WARNING; do NOT read this TRUE STORY if easily DISGUSTED.

Earlier, i was lying on my belly on the patio gazing into my pond, face inches from the surface in my usual daily manner, when i felt a natrix-like need to void the foul contents of my left nostril.

not wanting to miss any newt activity by seeking a tissue, i decided on a more simple option.

i placed my index finger over the opposing nasal cavity and in true slob style, i blew hard successfully achieving "touchdown" of a white MUCUS "craft" on the surface.
where a female vulgaris was resting.

surprisingly, instead of bolting away shaken by the sudden bogey holocaust, she remained and shortly took a couple of mouthfuls.

ive since wondered if the newt mistook my "gold watch" for frogspawn.
