Its only April but already the idiotic arsonists are on the loose. A week of dry weather, moderate easterly winds and a couple of criminals decide it will be a laugh to try and set fire to the moors. Luckily they didn't succeed but see the story on the BBC news website.

From the description I suspect its a small triangular area of unfenced  moorland bordered by three minor roads. The moorland is a bit degraded - subject to lots of dog walking as the neighbouring areas are all walled off from the road. No adders on that area but normally reasonable numbers of common lizard.
