We did not really get any full-on "adders in the snow" photos earlier this year. However, spare a thought for the Finnish cousins of our adders, and the herpers who study them, by clicking http://www.venomdoc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2255&highlight= - here

Herping and nordic skiing always seemed like incompatible activities to me, but I was obviously wrong....

Cheers,

WW

HI Wolfgang, now there's something really different for my eyes to feast on, thanks for that. Unfortunatly had to work all day so didnt get out, but there was a  sprinkling of snow over the local hills here in Surrey early this morn and i here Kent had a bit too!

I would have thought snakes out in the open like that on the snow were very vulnerable to any hawks that might be about as they show up so well against the white background. Or maybe there aren't any hawks about there.
