I just read your post about the sad loss of 'no-tail'.....Then I saw your pic here. Am I going off my trolley or am I right in thinking that this one is dead as well???? If not, its a feature, as I've never seen eyes so dark on a live grassie! R

Isn't it just a camera affect of light reflection from the spectacle? It doesn't look at all dead to me. I've noticed a lot of pictures on here of adders with funny looking eyes that don't appear quite as they do in the field.
