This is an interesting article; the image takes a while to load though... The particularly interesting thing is that it appears that these annoying newts delayed the development for a year by their presence. However, Swale Planning Services were informed by KRAG in 2001 of the presence of water bodies in the area that had been confirmed as breeding ponds for Great Crested Newts. IF they had acted on this information and done their job to ensure that adequate ecological survey had been carried out before granting planning permission, then the school development may not have been delayed for a year. |

hi, i was at my local GCN pond yesterday and its been redeveloped, its on a park so council owned and its now huge... it used to dry up every year and wasnt the nicest lookin mud puddle in the world but it obviously suited the GCNs very well but... it brings me to this point which iam finding rather hard to believe the redeveloped pond must i presume have taken place with the correct authority etc etc
but its now got a Dipping platform!!! so in theory use it and ya break the law, i just find that quality common sense at its best :) |
