I have just (20 October) found two clusters of unhatched grass snake eggs in a muck heap. One egg was damaged and the occupant was well formed and apparently healthy.  Should I place the eggs somewhere cold until the spring, or warm them (in the airing cupboard) so they hatch now and can be released back into the wild?  Would they survive the winter, as either eggs or juveniles?

They certainly won't stay healthy until spring.  If they are that close to hatching and have not, seems they may all be dead.  Only way is to find out is to incubate now.

Thanks Mark and Jonathan for your advice.  I'll put the ggs in the airing cupboard (I've hatched eggs there there before) and see what happens.  Rob
