After what has seemed like a very wet and grey Winter the weather finally relented for the day here on the south coast.

Two sites visited yielded seven adders, one common lizard and a grass snake. The grass snake was sufficiently warm to beat my camera lens.









The adders are 2 weeks earlier than previous years. No Sand Lizards yet. It'll probably snow by the end of the week!

Yes, the Grass Snake was a bit of a surprise for us too. It was an adult of a reasonable size.

I was hoping to get out again this weekend but it looks as if the Winter winds and cold air is heading our way again and putting paid to any more reptile sightings.

Sand lizards finally spotted this lunchtime.

5 out of 6 species now showing in the south.
