I have a confession to make.During the 1950s i use to collect a few reptiles and amphibians in Europe and sell / keep them to petshops.Ionce had a surplus of European pond tortoises and released about 15 at Baldwins Hill pond in EF.Disapprove.Does anyone know if any of them survive?as i have not been there for over 50 years.Shall now run and hide!

Hi Dave what you mean is does Baldwin hill still exist lol according to Rob or will I believe they cut back all the habitat bushes and shrubs like they do were all the sloworms lived do you remember my Albino one I got from there I gave it to Geo Malenoir and I think it ended up as a specimin in the BM ?I think Fred Speakman was a bit pissed off with its ending and wanted it for his center at the forest retreat, ps so are your the one who let these redear terrapins and sliders in the Baldwins hill pond, also lost your phone no .Keith

Noooooo!,never any red ears etc .They became popular much later than the '50s.These creatures were caught by me in the S of France in the mid late '50s.I use to catch the adults by listening to them bumping over the rocks in shallow water im ashamed to say.You have a PM.Dave
