What part of Hampshire are you in?   Saw 1 at a site local to me in Hampshire earlier this week.

Great to see some of you getting some early sightings inWink

Since my Area's that i observe are woodland, and the fact that the climate/wind this year was a bit on the cold side! I didnt sight any adders up until yesterday(the 5/3/13). I did try several times in February, but just didnt see any type of reptile at all.

It was wall to wall sunshine here in Kent(on the 5/3/13) so I took an extended lunch break from work(like ya do!). Checked out Area 2, and had a real good session(took quite a few photos!).

I found 5 adult males, 4 of them showed signs of emerging from hibernation several day previous? and the 5th adder appeared to have just emerged? I almost stepped on him too!

Also, today(another lunch break from work) i visited Area 1, and located 2 adult male adders.
Again, one looked like it had emerged days ago? whilst the other probably emerged today or perhaps yesterday?

A couple of photos from yesterday then, cheers.

Hi Tim - lovely pic, looks like a young female to me.  Would you believe I had my first adder / reptile of the year yesterday?  I have never had a March without any reptiles before!!  A few pics below, of some hardy males, but no females as yet.
