Dartford Warbler - seem to be a bit more common on the heaths this spring after mild winter than for the last few years.

Yes, last year here in East Devon we only had one possible sighting but so far seen and heard quite a few. Are these channel hoppers moving in?

Thanks Suzi; I guess the males are still territorial at this time of year. As for whether they could be from across the Channel, I don't know my birds well enough to comment on that, but I bet someone else does.

When I said "we only had one..." I meant me and my brother/or my son only saw one on all our outings. I wasn't referring to any actual known number in the vicinity, nor was I speaking as if I were the Queen!
