I'd agree with that Jon - the more adaptable wall lizards will simply disperse, whereas the viviparous lizards with their need for more shelter and humidity will be pushed out. In fact a focus for the viviparous lizards at the very top of the zig-zag has indeed been obliterated by the winter removal of gorse and bramble, leaving only a few wall lizards behind. The words 'Sledgehammer' and 'Nut' spring to mind...

Great shots Will. I'll have to head back down there again at some point this year. I still don't have a Green Lizard shot that I'm happy with.
