Hello,
My grandad called me to tell me he'd found a 'lizard' - rushed over, expecting to see a common lizard, alas - a newt! Not too hot on newt ID, so here's a shot of me holding the critter I'd appreciate any help! Amy

Nelly?
99.9% certain a female smooth newt, though female palmate newts are very similar.
