Been sent this photo today, doesn't look good for this animal. I've usually only seen this in animals that have had a very slight glancing blow from vehicles on the roads but no information where it was found.
Any ideas as to any other cause?

given that i t's a female, could it be a prolapse of the intestine post-spawning? can't see whether there's a wound that the guts are coming out of on the photo or via the cloaca.
