That's true Keith.  Nothing surprises me with this government.

I seriously think that the government should be run by a team of ecologists - then it would be a green one. But that's just fantasy and is never going to happen in a million years.

Ecologists have completely the wrong personality to be politicians - we actually care about things.

Gemma

How can you say such a thing? Fancy implying that politicians don't care? Of course they care, they care a lot! Examples of the kind of things many of them care about are ........

  • how much expenses they can claim
  • how much they can lie to the electorate when they get caught out
  • how to present totally unworkable political idealism with a total absence of realism or pragmatism to the unsuspecting public in a credible manner
  • how to get re-elected even though they seldom meet any promises they have ever made
  • how to avoid saying "sorry, we screwed up" (essential as otherwise they would be so busy apologising they would never have time to screw things up)
  • how to pander to those they deem to be their core electorate while trying to convince the remainder (i.e. the majority) that it is good for them too.

and this is just a few examples  - imagine the strain of all this worry!

It seems people actually do have some issues with the airport.

Oh, no! It's not safe for the planes because of the bloody birds flying about willy-nilly Shocked
Here's the article addressing this grievous concern.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen the news article today about Cameron and roads privatisation and go-ahead for building new super highways for the rich? Cameron is reported as saying that it would have no regard for environmental impacts.

Was in the Mirror today, but will see if i can get a link later.

Not good news though, and another example of our government not being green at all.
