I had a very last minute trip to Dorset on Friday, taking in Boscombe, and a few other sites, before venturing further afield for wild boar, sika deer and lesser Horseshoe bats..

It was quite early when I got to Boscombe and only a few green lizards were present in the usual terrain.. wall lizards however dominated and I stopped counting at thirty...

I also managed to visit a private site that has a good population of sand lizards, the lizards inhabit piles of garden rubbish. The animals were not disturbed in any way, no flipping or habitat interaction occurred and all photos were taken of basking animals with a 300mm lens. Please note this is not a heathland site, but a private site with a lot of human disturbance.

Also noted this little fella between the debris

Cheers Paul
