Hi Will We,ve struggled a bit in Merseyside this year to find as many animals. Probably this is down to the weather often not being ideal. We have had a lot of sunny days with a cool wind blowing this Spring, which is not ideal for observations, and recently it has been very hot at times. Nonetheless, we have recorded sandies in sites with few or no records before. Also the females started to lay last week, which is quite early. Cheers for now. Mike

At the site I survey in the Woolmer area, I've recorded Sandies in parts of the site where I haven't seen them previously. I can't discount the fact that they were in these parts before but I've overlooked them.
On 1 of my 2 visits I saw more females than males -it's usually the other way round. Though generally on the surveying side of things I haven't been able to do much with work playing a part and the weather just being too warm at times. Mark |
