Hi all

Too hot for most adders to be out today, but my attention was drawn to this chap which had retained some sloughed skin on his tail - much like a rattlesnake does, to build up the 'buttons' on its rattle.  However in the adder's case it was likely to attract the wrong kind of attention, so I removed the skin for him, allowing a good opportunity for a close-up shot of a newly sloughed snake in his irridescent prime.

Cheers - and thanks 'Robs adders' for your comments on the 'triple combat' post.  Triple combat with a melanistic male - that must have been some sight, Jon !

Will
