Whilst out at a natrix site with Mark B, I netted this beautiful male Cordulegaster boltonii. Mark did the honours with the camera, here he is just prior to release;

Odonata are a welcome distraction when there are no natrix to be found! The animal in your pic is a male Migrant hawker, Aeshna mixta, common enough down your way. |
