I would be interested to know if anyone has experience of the levels of salt that would/could be tolerated by great crested newts (and other species as well), for example ponds, ditches and lagoons on coastal marshes or similar. I have looked on the internet but not seen any references of studies into this. My initial thinking would be that brackish water would not be favourable but I am open to information to the contrary!
