Amongst the earth-crusted adders enjoying the first warmth of the year, I spied a pair of mating grass snakes. Amazing how they are so quick off the blocks given that they can't have been out of hibernation more than a couple of days, and that adders are still weeks off shedding and starting the mating stuff.

Finally seen my first two lizards of the year in the garden, an adult and juvenile from last year. Sat on one of the old tyres in the garden pressing themselves flat for some heat. Usually by now they are running about all over the place!
I really like that picture Kevin, took me a while to spot that there are two faces looking back!
