One of these snakes looks like a Smooth Snake to me. I have reported the item anyway as it is illegal either way. I think it is worth saving searches involving key words so that we can stamp out the black market trade in such items. |

UPDATE. Just got an email from the seller confirming that one of the snakes is a Smooth Snake. After that he has taken the listing from sale. I told him to take it to a museum and donate it and get a receipt to avoid prosecution. He seems to be complying..... hopefully. |

Without a license you cannot even have possession - dead or derivatives
And offering for sale is also illegal!!! I would have reported this to the Wildlife Crime Unit for investigation! J |

The museum would also need to have a license I suspect
otherwise they would also face possible prosecution J |

I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, they could be completely innocent in having this in their possession with no knowledge o what they had (this is backed up in the incorrect ID of one of the specimens). I had a load of stuff left to me when my Great Grandfather died in 1982 and his collection included enormous amounts of blown birds eggs he had collected as a child. Not wanting to keep or destroy them, I gave them to the Natural History museum. |
