Morning Wolfgang ,

Many thanks for posting that. Is there some sort of organisation that I should join (BHS) so as to recieve this sort of information as it happens ?

I always feel as though I'm a few months behind everytime something changes.

Cheers,

Alan

There is no organization that guarantees you being kept up to date - that is your own responsibility!

Obviously, joining societies like the BHS will give you direct access to some of the literature and news but by and large, the society journals and newsletter don't provide any kind of "taxonomic update" service.

On the web, the two most useful sources of taxonomic updates are:

EMBL reptile database - provides a listing of all recognised species, with regular updates.

Herpetological Contents - gives you the contents lists of most herpetological journals.

Hope this is of some help.

Cheers,

Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang, Tony.

Many thanks for the tips and links, i'll shall try and keep up to date in the future .

I do not disagree with taxonomy myself , but must admit i'm not one that adjusts to change quickly.

Good luck with this book Tony, I'm looking forward to it.

Cheers,

Alan
