hi folks

i realise that common frogs are less interesting than the more "spectacular" and rarer herps like LA for many members. dont argue - check the site stats if you dont believe me. maybe im in a minority in loving them so much. ah well!

do we have to wait for this species to become scarce before people take more of an interest?

anyway for the benefit of Lalchitri, Baby Sue and hopefully others, heres a few pics of a thriving garden frog colony;

as ever with anything i post, your comments, corrections and photography advice are most welcome.

all pix IN SITU - unlike many snake shots. LOL!

enjoy!

metamorph.
note bug on eyeball - anyone know what it is?

Iris Sawfly larva Rhadinoceraea micans;

there are five adult RT in this pic. see em????;

Duckweed eye........

cheers folks, ben

The common frog is about the least common herp I see here in rural Essex. Spoken to many local people regarding the 'big' populations that use to exist locally. Not anymore.

I've only seen a single adult female visit our garden pond in 8 years.

So I for one love to see pictures of common frogs, particularly in a pond that looks like frog heaven Thumbs Up
