Hmm, well that probably makes it what my first thought was. Though when I checked the book, I changed my mind and went down the warbler route. The breast looks very pale in the photo, and I can't really make out an eye ring. On the other hand, I could be completely wrong again!
Though there aren't many non-warbler contenders. |

As it is so pale I ruled out a few ideas. As you say it isn't a warbler, and I don't think it's a resident, then I guess it is a migrant and that leaves things like nightingales but it's too pale. Or is this a trick and it's some sort of mis-coloured bird that we should know?!

Well done Suz, I thought the throat pouch was a bit of a give away, but as you say it is a bit pale and it has the twitchers twiching over herts.
It's a Nightingale and let me tell you, this boy can sing!
