After reading all this sad outcome I find it hard to believe that the adders have just arrived in your garden or have you just moved in what county and area do you live ? it would help with local adder surveys.keith

Believe it or not, 2 adders were here. I am in Essex on the boarders of Basildon and have lived here just over 2 years. There was no sightings here before even though we disturbed most of the garden and paddocks with landscaping and fencing. Maybe they moved over here because the paddocks got very wet in the heavy rain in the last few months.
