RAUK needs you!

As our long-standing members are aware, one of the reasons that Gemma had to finally give up ownership and maintenance of this website was the costs involved.

The news that Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (ARC) and the Amphibian and Reptile Groups of the UK (ARG-UK) have kindly sponsored this site could hardly be more welcome.

These two key organisations recognise the importance of a totally independent forum in which those interested in our herpetofauna in the field and its conservation can freely exchange news, advice and opinions.

As a result of their financial support, RAUK can now to look forward to continuing, and growing, for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately, the necessary migration to a MS SQL equipped Server has resulted in a substantial (threefold in fact) increase in costs. I have not, and do not plan, to ask ARC and ARG to increase their contribution. They need their money desperately to fund their continuing conservation work. As a result, I am again asking that our Forum members consider making a donation towards the cost of maintaining this website. Donations need not be large - every little helps. But please see what you can do. Drop me a PM or email me on admin@herpetofauna.co.uk to ask how you might do this. Many thanks.

Both of ARC and ARG can themselves benefit from your support.

  •  You can become a 'Frog Friend' of Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, to support and find out about its herpetofauna conservation work www.arc-trust.org.
  • Or you can get stuck in with your local Amphibian and Reptile Group www.arguk.org

So, please, RAUK itself may no longer be reliant on your donations, but our herpetofauna through the responsible organisations such as these DOES need them. Consider how you might actively help in this respect.
