So this year I've decided to try and have a look at our 'ex-pat' herps and midwife toads seem like a good place to start. My parents live in Hertfordshire so there, or Bedfordshire is relatively easy for me to get to from my home in London.

I've read a fair bit online about the colonies spreading from a near Bedford base, but much of it seems to talk about garden ponds, which I doubt I can go tramping about in, would anyone on here know of good public locations to search? Hertfordshire locations would be a bonus, if only to save on petrol miles.
