 Quick look over the heath for half an hour
spotted an angry spitting female that would not oblige a head shot, I seem to be getting very good at body only shots. It started out very overcast hot and humid ,that was ok until the sun came out and scorched every thing away including me.Also here is English natures method of keeping the foliage down with flocks of sheep, who were also hiding from the sun as seen in photo what do you think ? the only other interesting shot was of a gatekeeper butterfly. I met some E/N rep on the heath with an East Anglian daily times rep reporting on the ecology of the heath who asked me a few questions also my adder notices I put up a few months ago have remained up ..keith

Cheers Rob just a prototype think I might

hi keith.
enjoyed your pix and account. great to see shots where you cant see the adders head. it makes you wonder what its doing. this adds intrigue to the photos in my humble opinion. making them stand out among many VB pix ive seen. not that i know a thing about photography haha! i used to be able to ID a few sheep breeds thanks to a shepherd mate who taught me. however, ive long since forgotten many. are EN using local breeds here? those certainly arent SUFFOLKS. THEY have BLACK faces. sheep-farming obviously goes back centuries and so it might help a little bit if they used breeds both suited to, and therefore traditional to, the locale. maybe. all the best, ben |

Hi Ben the sheep could be white faced

Hello. I popped over to Cavenham Heath this morning out of
curiosity and i saw one of your signs 
is that the area the best place to see one. I know this time of year is a waste now. But ive looked at other areas in West Norfolk and this area looks superb as its huge! |

Thankyou. Its meant to warm up later on this week albeit
with a drop of rain. Maybe a few will stir? Do you see many Common Lizards on the heath? Bet its also great for Stone Curlew in summer? |

Yes they are there but spread out ,probably the
