This is what my finger looked like two weeks after the bite from a young Eristicophis macmahonii. The dead tissue is allready been removed. It wasn't actually a bite but a shallow scratch with one fang when I was administering medicine. I passed out on the floor whitin five minutes after the bite. I took a four day stay at the hospital. I been bit by venomous snakes before. But this whas the bite that nearly killed me.

Thank You, dear Tom!

Your photos are perfect. I've never saw this viper in the quality like that.
I hope, Your finger is well now. But now You have something to remember and talk about.

Thank You so much!
Regards, Lachesis

I want to return to the BITIS HERALDICA topic. I'd like to know how does it look like. I've heard, that it is the rarest snake of Africa. Is it true, does enybody know. Especially I'd like read describing of this adder. As I understand, the fotos of this species are as rare as this animal.

I've found photos of BITIS ALBANICA in internet.

It looks like BITIS CORNUTA. It's interesting, what is the difference between dwarf adders of BITIS CORNUTA - INORNATA complex (I'm not talking about habitat)?
