Thats a fair point you make alan... I found a Slow Worm in Ennerdale a few years ago underneath a piece of moss. I lifted the moss up not knowing there was anything underneath and then WHACK!!! The little thing bit me on my finger before sliding away into one of the gaps in the wall...
